01 / TRAVEL NOTES
Three mountains. Where to start?
Decide whether to start at West Mountain near the Resort Hotel or enter from the East Mountain side. With beginners, keep the first day around gentle hotel-side runs. For a longer outing, check lift connections before continuing to Isola.
These are three mountains within one ski resort. Choosing a different hotel does not mean booking a separate ski area. Use the official map to understand the connections.
Consider the Resort Hotel for convenient access to skiing, dining and baths. Consider the Westin for more room to spend time indoors. Compare the exact room category, meals and route to the slopes alongside the photographs.
Leave part of the evening unplanned. Kotobuki no Yu and Oktoberfest are in the Resort Hotel complex; from the Westin, include the journey there and back in your plans.
Big Runs from New Chitose and Rusutsu Express from Sapporo both require advance reservations. Check which departure works with your flight before fixing arrival-day plans.
