01 / TRAVEL NOTES

Choose your skiing and starting point

Link the long slopes at your own pace

Take the gondola up for the descent from Main Street into Forest. Even beginner-rated sections have changes in gradient: check the map and difficulty first, and practise at a comfortable pace. Plan a rest stop and a way back to the resort base before fatigue sets in.

Choose terrain within the forest landscape

Beech woods and views towards Mount Bandai frame a day at Grandeco. Advanced skiers have ungroomed and steeper options, but openings and snow change daily. If your group splits by ability, agree on a meeting point at the base.

Combine skiing, snow play and a hotel stay

Children’s practice areas, snow play and the neighbouring hotel’s hot springs can share one itinerary. Check which zones are for playing or skiing and which equipment each needs. Use the hotel access run only when it is open that day.

Courses, distances and arrival times

Grandeco sits among the forests of Urabandai. Its gondola serves long, gentle terrain, with nearby hotels and hot springs as places to stay. Counts follow the current official course listing.

Published figures describe the scope noted below. Check today’s open terrain and lift status with the resort.

The current official guide lists 11 sections, including two connecting routes. The approximately 4 km descent links two runs. This counting method differs from some earlier seasonal listings.
