01 / TRAVEL NOTES

A long beginner route, and where next.

The seven official courses and longest 3.6km route describe Sapporo Kokusai alone. The 3.6km combines Rinkan (1.2km) and Märchen (2.4km), rather than measuring the Märchen Course on its own.

Rinkan and Märchen are beginner courses, averaging 8° with a 12° maximum. Family is intermediate, averaging 11° with a 20° maximum. Ask the school where first-time children should practise before attempting the full descent.

Downhill is a 2.2km advanced course, reaching 30°. Powder photographs do not predict your travel-day snow. Check closures and do not treat the guide as permission to enter restricted or unmanaged terrain.
