Zao Astraea is a slope-access hotel on the Yokokura side. The return journey is described as skiing or snowboarding back to the hotel. Beginners can reserve a transfer to the slopes, but there is no return pickup from them. Discuss a suitable return route with the hotel and lesson provider before booking for beginners or children.
The separate bath building has natural hot-spring indoor and outdoor baths. The hotel’s internal communal bath uses different water. After-check-out access to the hot-spring building excludes cleaning time; before-check-in use is not available. Confirm dinner arrangements before booking an evening snow-monster excursion. Dietary needs require advance contact and the appropriate plan.
Call the hotel for pickup after reaching Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. Local transfers cover the terminal, ropeway boarding area and hot-spring town; there is no Yamagata Station transfer. Return drop-offs require reservations. Room views cannot be specified; confirm winter booking conditions on the official site.
Use the property’s official information to confirm availability, room category, meals and cancellation terms for your dates. Some linked pages are in Japanese.
