From Yamagata Station to Zao Onsen. After leaving our luggage at the inn and checking the rental and entrance for the next day, we walked down Takayu Street and headed to the public bath and hot springs at the inn. Mountaintop sightseeing is not mandatory on the day of arrival, leaving some leeway for travel delays.
Check the lift and visibility in the morning. If the weather is good, we will aim for the scenery of snow monsters and go around the mountain on a course that suits the difficulty level. On days when the conditions at the summit are poor, we practice in lower areas such as Uwanodai and divide our time between hot springs and meals.
Decide on a bus or train for your return trip, and choose between a short ski run or a ropeway tour. We will check the conditions of your sightseeing ticket and depart, including time to collect your luggage and change clothes after descending the mountain.
We will arrange the opening days of the facility, meals and transportation conditions for the accommodation, and transportation to and from the facility in advance. When it snows or the service is canceled, find ways to spend your time other than skiing. This is not a reserved product or a confirmed flight schedule.

Reserved and non-reserved Nagano buses are separate. Winter pages still cover2025–26: verify the current departure and actual stop at Happo, Hakuba Station or Goryu. The existing80min example is bus plus walking from Nagano to Happo gondola, not every mountain or waiting time.
