Kaido no Yu is a public bath with an indoor bath and an open-air bath. At the end of your day skating at Mitsumata, choose between indoor or outdoor hot springs. This is one of the hotels that is easy to compare for people who want to choose an outdoor bath for the open-air bath.
Right next door is the roadside station Mitsumata. This is a location where you can plan your local shopping, meals, and bathing all at once. However, the opening hours for food at the roadside station and the hot springs may not be the same, so be sure to check both on days when you visit in the evening.
It is not in the hot spring town in front of Yuzawa Station, but along National Route 17 in Mitsumata. If you're using a bus, count back from the time you leave the hot springs, including the stop and last bus, and if you're driving, including travel on snowy roads.
Official guidance states that skis and snowboards are not allowed inside the facility. It will be easier if you store your belongings and load them into your car first, then take out your towel and change of clothes before entering the facility.
