01 / TRAVEL NOTES
After the slopes, a wooden bathhouse
Taka-no-yu is Sakaya’s men’s communal bath, and Tsuki-no-yu is the women’s bath. Choose this inn for time with the bathhouse architecture and bathing, rather than planning every hour around skiing.
The village inn uses a spring that rises in its garden. Leave time for a walk after bathing; if your plan includes dinner, arrange the evening around the meal.
Base
Nozawa Onsen village
Slope access
Choose Hikage or Nagasaka first, then ask the inn about snowy streets with equipment.
Rooms
Compare Japanese-style and Japanese-Western bedding and capacity. Check bathroom facilities for the exact room.
Baths & facilities
Communal and open-air baths plus a reservable private indoor bath; not a private onsen in every room.
Transport
The inn estimates 25 minutes by bus from Iiyama and a three-minute walk from the terminus. Check winter trips and snow separately.
02 / TRAVEL NOTES
Communal, open-air and private baths are separate from rooms
Tsukimi-no-tani is the open-air bathing area beside the communal baths. Matsu-no-yu is a private indoor bath that requires a reservation. These are facilities within the inn, not a promise of a private onsen in every room. Ask about charges and available private-bath slots.
Kame-no-yu, shown on the official bathing page, is an outdoor spa at the separate Sakaya Hanare Jonnobi property. Swimwear or bathing garments are required. Inclusion with a main-building stay and access for day visitors are unverified here; ask who may use it before planning a visit.
