Winter mountain views without skiing

Frost Tree Terrace is an observation facility visited on Unkai Gondola. Admire the winter scenery of ice on the trees, walk through observation spots, and then warm up at Unkai Café. The seasonal scenery is different from Unkai Terrace in summer, with hoarfrost and diamond dust depending on the weather. Rather than thinking of it as a place where you are guaranteed to see the same scenery as in the photo, try to plan on enjoying the snowy mountains that day.

Day visitors arrive at the Resort Centre

If you are visiting for a day trip, follow the directions in the area to the resort center. A shuttle bus is provided for hotel guests. The final up and down times vary depending on the date, and riding for skiing purposes is not possible during some early morning hours. Let's check the gondola usage for sightseeing and the schedule to start skiing separately.

Keep your plans flexible for the weather

Even if the gondola is moving, it doesn't necessarily mean hoarfrost will occur. Pack cold protection and shoes for walking on snowy roads, and if the trip is canceled, consider spending the day at Mina-Mina Beach or at a hotel. When choosing an experience to book, such as a special high tea, be sure to also check the gondola price and event conditions.
