01 / TRAVEL NOTES

Two mountains, where to start

Start gently on Tower Mountain

Hello Nipo is a 710 m beginner run beside Nipo Chair. Start with stopping and turning before moving on. Road to Gondola connects towards Tomamu Mountain; do not assume the same route works in reverse. Check the map, open runs and the route back to your hotel.

Long cruising or steeper terrain on Tomamu Mountain

Silver Bell is a 3,300 m easy run. Linking it with Beginners Choice produces the resort’s 4,200 m longest route, not one single piste. Intermediate skiers can consider groomed Exhibition; advanced skiers can assess No Gravity, with a maximum pitch of 35 degrees. Choose by grooming and ability. Separate mountain course totals remain unconfirmed.

An early gondola does not mean early skiing

From 2027-01-20 to 2027-02-10, gondola boarding for skiing is not permitted between 7:45 and 9:00. Plan Frost Tree Terrace sightseeing separately from your first descent. The advanced-only off-piste area has its own registration, equipment and daily opening rules.

02 / TRAVEL NOTES

Lessons and collecting equipment

Tomamu Lessons lists Japanese-, English- and Chinese-speaking instructors. Group lessons are for ages 13+, children’s groups for ages 4–6 and 7–12, and private lessons for ages 4+. Yukiッズ ski levels up to level 3 and Mountain Host are Japanese-only. Confirm the language, availability and snow meeting point when booking; use the approved-school list. Reception is at The Tower, which need not be the lesson’s meeting point.

Rental desks at The Tower, RISONARE and Resort Center have different seasons. RISONARE’s desk is scheduled for 2026-12-12–2027-03-31. Online bookings of at least one day can be collected at the hotels from 15:00 the previous day; five-hour rentals do not qualify. Check the booked desk and children’s sizes. Club Med equipment arrangements are separate.

Plan the journey to the slopes

From New Chitose Airport, change at Minami-Chitose for a limited express to Tomamu, then use the hotel transfer. Station→The Tower is about 5 min, station→RISONARE about 10 min, to the hotel rather than the slopes. If no bus is waiting, use the dedicated phone on platform 2. Trains are all-reserved-seat and the station has no ticket office. Arrange outbound and return tickets in advance; The Tower’s ticket machine does not accept cash.

09 / TRAVEL NOTES

Before you ski

  • Check the day’s open runs, lift operation and weather with the resort.
  • Choose runs and a return route suited to everyone’s ability.
  • Confirm lesson meeting points, rental pickup and the final transport home.
