DESTINATION / Aomori Prefecture

Hakkoda

Ski among snow-covered trees, then return to a forest inn for a bath. In Hakkoda, choose where to ski and where to stay as separate decisions. Check the ropeway, guest transfers and bath admission before joining them into a day.

01 / SNOW & STAY

Choose where to ski, then build your stay

Start with the right ski entrance

Hakkoda Ropeway and Hakkoda Kokusai Ski Resort have different entry points. Confirm the ski facility and any guided-tour meeting place first, then choose your accommodation and transport. Use the operator’s current updates for ropeway operation and whether skiing is possible.

Explore Hakkoda skiing and official updates ↗

Reaching your stay and getting around

Public transport from the Aomori City side, guest-only hotel transfers and travel between facilities are different journeys. Do not assume you can walk easily between an inn, the ropeway and a bath on snowy roads. Plan your stop and return journey, check winter closures and night restrictions, and reconfirm winter departures when a shuttle table has no year.

Jogakura Bridge

A bridge spanning the Jogakura mountain stream in Towada Hachimantai National Park. Weather permitting, you can enjoy views of the mountains and valleys of Hakkoda, and choose a detour on your road trip. Winter has snow, wind, and road regulations, so don't visit with the same feeling as a summer stroll. Plan to see as much of the scenery as you can on days when you can drive and park.

Before you visit or book

Check winter traffic regulations, parking lot conditions, strong winds, road conditions, and local access information.
