01 / TRAVEL NOTES

Hegi soba and Uonuma’s food traditions

A wooden bowl for serving soba is called a ``hegi''. At Nakanoya, we serve soba noodles wrapped in Funori seaweed, arranged in bowls. Having a meal with several people sitting around would be a good way to end a day of skating, or for lunch on the day you arrive at Yuzawa.

Choose the amount of soba based on the number of people and what you want to eat. Be sure to check the official instructions for not only hegi soba but also tempura and other items before deciding to order.

02 / TRAVEL NOTES

Joining the online queue is not a table reservation

The official website states that it is not possible to reserve seats. Even if there is an online reception, it is different from a reservation where you can sit at your desired time. If you're planning a meal on the day you're returning from the ski resort, decide on the train's departure time in advance and plan ahead in case the wait time is extended.

Please check the reception desk and address to avoid confusing the Yuzawa main store with other stores. There is also information on irregular holidays, so it is best to check the monthly closure notices instead of making decisions based on fixed days of the week.

03 / TRAVEL NOTES

Add hot springs and shopping to the visit

People staying at inns near the station will feel lighter by leaving their luggage behind before heading out to eat. On days when you can also enjoy bathing, compare the reception at the soba restaurant and the final reception at the hot spring to decide which one to go first.
