01 / TRAVEL NOTES

A family ski day, with time back at the hotel

The adjacent NASPA Ski Garden is for skiers only; snowboarding is not permitted anywhere. Snowboarders in your party need another ski area, such as GALA Yuzawa. Plan that journey alongside time to change, bathe and eat at the hotel. If you arrive before check-in, ask about luggage storage and the winter rest space.

Base
Echigo-Yuzawa / NASPA
Slope access
NASPA is for skiers only; snowboarding is prohibited. GALA requires a separate journey.
Rooms
Cots for under-ones and fall-prevention bed guards are different items. Both are limited and unavailable in Japanese-style rooms; ask when booking.
Baths & facilities
Pool: age three or over, out of nappies; primary-school children and younger need a guardian. Bathing rules are separate.
Transport
The overnight-guest station shuttle differs from inter-resort transport. Consider a shuttle or taxi for the uphill road.

Bedding, meals and pool rules

Choose between Japanese-style, Western-style and family rooms by party size and bedding. The FAQ lists cots for babies aged under one; these are different from bed guards that help prevent falls. Both are limited in number and unavailable in Japanese-style rooms, so request them when booking. A child sharing a bed does not automatically stay without charge.

Check which Japanese, Western or buffet restaurant serves dinner under your offer, and whether children’s meals are included. A hotel booking does not include every restaurant. Confirm meal inclusions and table arrangements before your ski day.

Pool users must be at least three and out of nappies; children of primary-school age or younger need an accompanying guardian. The pool and communal hot-spring baths have different rules: check your offer and opening hours separately. Day bathing is paid, and post-checkout bathing also requires checking towel arrangements and cleaning closures.

Station transfers and journeys to other slopes

The hotel shuttle from Echigo-Yuzawa Station is for overnight guests; the road to the hotel is uphill. It is separate from inter-resort shuttles linking NASPA, GALA and other ski areas. On 19 October 2026, the access page displayed autumn timetables; winter operating dates and times remained unverified. Confirm your travel dates with the hotel rather than reusing autumn or last winter’s schedule.

Before choosing your room

Match the room name, party size, bedding and meals to the offer you book. Check live availability, rates and cancellation terms with the hotel. Some linked pages are in Japanese.
