01 / TRAVEL NOTES
Choose your skiing and starting point
Gentle terrain below, more demanding skiing above
Naeba combines beginner slopes in front of the hotels with intermediate and advanced terrain higher on the mountain. New skiers can practise below while experienced companions head towards Daishamen or Riesen. Not everyone can ski the same descent: agree on lunch meeting points and check whether downloading by gondola is permitted.
Include Kagura in a longer trip
Dragondola links Naeba with Kagura’s Tashiro area. On a multi-night stay, give each mountain its own day and choose according to weather and energy. Check connecting-run difficulty, ticket coverage and lift hours. Wind or course conditions may prevent the trip, so plan a return time and alternative transport.
A resort day beyond skiing
Slope-front hotels, restaurants, village accommodation and day-use hot springs add choices between ski sessions. Spend the morning on the mountain, then leave time for practice, a rest, Yukisasa-no-Yu or dinner at the hotel. For non-skiers, check which activities and dining venues are open rather than expecting them to wait beside the slopes all day.
A mountain resort in Yuzawa with Naeba Prince Hotel below the slopes. It suits a stay close to skiing. Check the day’s Dragondola operation before planning a connection to Kagura.
Published figures describe the scope noted below. Check today’s open terrain and lift status with the resort.
The 24 courses belong to Naeba alone and exclude Kagura. Dragondola travel distance is not added to skiing distance.

Echigo-Yuzawa Station, east exit → Naeba Prince Hotel
Approx. 40 min (hotel guests only) · Reserved hotel guest bus
The guest service is planned for 12 December 2026–4 April 2027. Book both directions from one month to two days before travel; seats are limited and traffic can delay arrival. These are transfer dates, not ski-operation dates. This winter’s public-bus services, times and last departures remain unverified here.
For consecutive Naeba ski days, compare Naeba Prince Hotel’s buildings, rooms and slope entrances first. Echigo-Yuzawa suits town dining or other resorts but adds a road journey to Naeba each day. The hotel’s guest bus is not transport for other hotels or day visitors.

Separate public buses from the hotel guest service
Naeba is not connected directly to the Shinkansen station. It requires a road journey from Echigo-Yuzawa. The reserved Naeba Prince Hotel guest bus is listed at about 40 minutes and is separate from public local or express buses.
The guest service is planned for 12 December 2026–4 April 2027. Book both directions from one month to two days before travel; seats are limited and traffic can delay arrival. These are transfer dates, not ski-operation dates. This winter’s public-bus services, times and last departures remain unverified here.
After reaching the hotel, check your building’s entrance and route to the slopes. Dragondola is a mountain connection towards Tashiro, not a road transfer. Check operation, eligible tickets and the route back for your actual ski day.
